Sikkim Manipal University of Health, Medical and Technological Sciences, a State University, is located at Tadong in
Gangtok.
Its constituent college, the Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology, offers engineering degree courses in computers, information technology, electronics and communication, electrical engineering and mechanical Engineering. The Distance Education Wing of the university offers IT career oriented courses in management, bioinformatics and technology, hardware and networking, commerce, fashion designing, mass communication and journalism and allied health science course. Twinning programs are also launched in collaboration with various IT organizations.
