Sidheswar Shiva Temple




Sidheswar Shiva Temple is a highly revered shrine situated on the banks of Barak River, at Badarpurghat, in Assam. This ancient temple, built on an old rock, enshrines Lord Shiva as the presiding deity. Shiva is worshipped here in the form of a Shivling. The idol was believed to be worshipped by a saint named ‘Kapila’.

The annual Baruni Mela, celebrated here, attracts thousands of devotees from far and near.

Sidheswar Shiva Temple is just 200 m east of Badarpurghat Railway Station.
