Shrine of Data Amir Ali Shah




Shrine of Data Amir Ali Shah is located at Barura Sharif in Chatra District and is about 12 km from Pratappur. The shrine is dedicated to a pious 18th century Sufi, Data Amir Ali Shah, who served the people without any discrimination. Built at a height of about 10 ft from the banks of Sat Bahini River, it offers a view of a small ravine.

The shrine is visited by both Hindus and Muslims. Urs, the annual festival, is celebrated here on the eve of Chaitra Navami. Numerous devotees visit during the occasion. The festival ends on 10th of Chaitra with Fatiha Khwani (recitation of suras of the Holy Quran). People suffering from evil spirits come here for deliverance. Gaya Junction Railway Station is the closest railhead.
