A popular festival of
Uttar Pradesh, Shri Panchami Ram Vivah is the marriage anniversary of
Lord Ram and
Sita. It is celebrated on the fifth day (Panchami) of the full moon of Aghuayan. It is believed that on this day, Lord Ram broke the divine bow of
Lord Shiva and married Sita. During this festival, Dharm Yagna is performed and the verses from the
Ramayana are read.
