Shri Kochu Guruvayoorappan Temple is a highly revered shrine situated in Asthika Samaj at Matunga in Greater Mumbai District of Maharashtra. This temple enshrines Lord Krishna, as the presiding deity. Here the lord is seen in his childhood form and is called Kochu Guruvayoorappan or Natkhat Krishna. Several other mini shrines for divinities like Lord Ganesh and goddess Durga are seen in the temple complex.
The pujas are done exactly as in the Kerala Guruvayoorappan Temple, with minor variations as laid down by the temple priest. Shri Kochu Guruvayoorappan Temple is decorated with attractive wooden carvings, figures and sculptures. The walls are adorned with figures, based on the Kiratarjuneeyam tale in the
Mahabharata.
