Shri Gobardhana Pitha Garoi Ashram lies in
Garoi village in
Jagatsinghpur District,
Orissa. Established by Baba Shri Buddhanath Das, the
ashram is on the confluence of the rivers
Gobari and Devi.
The place is spiritually important where the six gurus of Buddhanath Das had enlightenment under a Peepal tree. Many revered masters had performed
sadhana at the ashram.
Rath Yatra is an event celebrated here in which chariots are taken to Gundichha Temple, Garoi. Another event celebrated is Jobra Yagna, a yagna to invoke the power of the five basic elements (air, fire, water, earth and sky).
