Shri 1008 Chandra Prabhu Digambar Jain Atishaya Kshetra Dehra is a famous Jain temple located at
Tijara, about 48 km north-east of
Alwar. This temple is dedicated to Bhagwan Chandra Prabhu, the 8th
tirthankar of the Jains.
The beautiful idol of Bhagwan Chandra is in Padmasana posture. This 15 inch high idol, excavated in 1956, is made of white stone and is worshipped as the principal deity of the temple. To the south of the temple premises, there is another idol of Lord Chandra Prabhu, black in color in the Padmasana posture. The main hall of the shrine can accommodate about 2000 people at a time. The temple walls are decorated with beautiful paintings based on mythological stories. This temple also houses the idols of Bhagwan Parshwanath and Bhagwan Mahavir. The Rathayatra Utsav is the main festival celebrated on the 7th day of Falgun Shukla.
To access the temple, jeeps are available from Tijara bus stand.
