Shree Bharatalaya, established in 1970, is at Mylapore in
Chennai. It is an institution for learning classical
Bharatanatyam and classical music. Sanskrit and
Telugu languages are also taught. Besides, study tour to places of architectural and sculptural interest such as temples and museums form part of the education. Dance education at Shree Bharatalaya covers even the various aspects of presenting a dance program, such as stage-craft and makeup, costume designing and production and self-adornment prior to performances.
