Introduced in December 1998, The Shivalik Queen is a luxury tourist coach launched for honeymooners. It is operated by the
Kalka-Shimla Railways. The coach offers exclusive privacy and a panoramic views of the hills. It covers 96 km in 4 hrs and 45 minutes. This coach can be attached to mail or express trains from kalka to shimla.
The Shivalik Queen is divided into two portions consisting of two coupes with wall-to-wall carpet and elegantly curtained windows. It is equipped with ultramodern facilities and fittings such as altimeter, fancy lights and chrome plated luggage rack. There is an alarm bell for communication with the driver and a microphone to contact the guard. Free newspapers and magazines are provided. Fare is Rs. 750.00 per couple, inclusive of meals.
