Shiv Temple is located at
Bagot, about 25 km from
Mahendragarh.
Lord shiva is the presiding deity. A big fair is conducted on the eve of
Mahashivaratri.
A large number of people visit this temple on the fulfillment of their vows. There is a unique tradition followed by the devotees. They go to
Haridwar a week before the fair and bring water from the
Ganges in two small pitchers, known as Kawars. Without keeping the pitchers on the earth, the people travel on foot during the whole return journey. It is believed that the sacred water will become impure if it is kept down.
After reaching Bagot, Ganga water is sprinkled over the stone idol of Shiva and worship throughout the day by singing hymns and bhajans.
Mahendragarh Railway Station is the nearest railway station.
