Shillong Golf Club

Built by a group of British Civil Service officers in 1898, Shillong Golf Club is situated on a hillock overlooking the Ward's Lake in Meghalaya. It has a sprawling 18-hole golf course with a picturesque club house. The course is set in an undulating valley covered with thick groves of pine and rhododendron trees. Visiting golfers can also play here.

The club has excellent tennis-court besides other facilities. It offers Reiki classes and flower exhibitions. Regular dance parties are held on Christmas and New Year’s Eve. The club library contains some of the best books.

Umiam Lake, 16 km out of Shillong, has campsite facilities for fishing enthusiasts.
