Sheshasaya Statue




Sheshasaya Statue, at the base of the Bandhavgarh Fort is in Jabalpur District of Madhya Pradesh. This 11 m (36 ft) long image of the reclining Lord Vishnu belongs to the 10th century, and is said to be guarded by a seven headed snake. There is a pool of spring water in front of the rock-cut statue. This pool is considered as the main source of the stream known as Charan Ganga, one of the three perennial streams flowing through the Bandhavgarh National park.

The nearest airport is Khajuraho Airport (210 km), from where it is a 5 hour drive to Bandhavgarh.
