Shanti Sadhana Ashram is located in the south-eastern part of
Guwahati, about 12 km away from
Guwahati Junction Railway Station. Started in 1982 by the members of Acharya Vinoba Bhabe's Ashram, Paunar,
Maharashtra, it is a social organization with branches in different parts of
Assam.
The ashram is a center for various kinds of training and research programs. Some of the activities are early childhood education training program, non-formal education training program, numerous income generation programs, awareness programs and youth orientation camps. Besides, the Shanti Sadhana Ashram organizes peace marches, takes parts in relief works during natural calamities and donates blood to poor patients.
