Shankara Samaroh

Shankara Samaroh is celebrated every year on the sacred banks of the river Narmada at Omkareshwar. It is conducted on the occasion of Mahashivratri. This festival is an occasion to listen to the spiritual and philosophical discourses delivered by scholars of repute and great saints on shiva-tattva and the philosophy of Adi Shankaracharya. Devotional songs and dances are an essential part of the festivities.
