Shani Shignapur

Shani Shignapur is a village located in Ahmednagar District of Maharashtra. It is about 35 km from Ahmednagar.

Local legends say that anyone who tries to steal at this region becomes blind, hence many of the houses round here have no doors or any other safety measures. The villagers believe that Shanishwara (Lord Shani) protects their houses.

Major point of attraction here is an ancient temple known as Shani Shinganapur Temple. Devotees believe that a person who is bitten by a snake can be saved by performing a ritual at this temple. Shri Dattatraya Temple and the tomb of Sant Shri Udasi Baba are the nearby attractions.

By road, Shani Shignapur is linked with Aurangabad (68 km) and Shirdi (70 km). Ahmednagar Railway Station is the nearest railhead.
