Shah Najaf Imambara is located near Sikandar Bagh in
Lucknow. A replica of the tomb of Hazrat Ali at Najaf in Iraq, it is also known as Najaf-e-Ashraf.
It is a white domed building on the right bank of Gomti River and contains the tombs of Ghazi-ud-din Haider and his wives. It is noted for its floral designs and chandeliers. The tombs are plated in gold and silver.
The building was used a shelter by the rebels during the mutiny of 1857.
