Sevvandheesam Temple

Sevvandheesam Temple is situated at Panjupettai (Big Street) in the campus of Government Seed Farm at Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the temple enshrines Lord Sevvandeeswarar as the presiding deity. Situated opposite to the idol of the deity is a figure of Nandi and an altar – the altar is believed to be the place where all the evil thoughts are destroyed.

It is believed that the God of wind established the idol of Lord Shiva and worshipped the deity by showering ‘Seventhi’ flowers.
