School of Legal Studies, a premier institution for legal education in Asia, is located in the campus of the Cochin University of Science and Technology, about 15 km north of
Kochi, in
Kerala. It was established in 1962 as a Department of Law of the
University of Kerala. Soon after, it became a part of the Cochin University when it was established in 1971.
School of Legal Studies offers programs in graduate, post-graduate and doctoral levels with specialization in administrative law, commercial law, constitutional law, consumer law, criminal law, environmental law, human rights law, intellectual property rights, labor law, family law and maritime law.
Admissions to the LLM and LLB courses are based on a Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by Cochin University. The placement cell has been organized which is engaged in conducting campus tests/interviews for placement.
The school features a well-stocked library and a well-equipped computer lab complete with internet.
School of Legal Studies is 20 km south of Cochin International Airport.
