Sawai Bhoj Temple is an ancient temple located at
Asind in
Bhilwara District in
Rajasthan. Built in the 10th century, the temple caters the religious needs of the Gurjar community of Rajasthan.
History has it that it was built in memory of a Gurjar youth, Sawai Bhoj, who fell in love with Jaimati, the wife of the Raja of Bhenai. In a fierce battle with a Rajput ruler, Sawai Bhoj, his four brothers and mother were killed. The temple was built to commemorate the sacrifice.
An old dargah, known as Badia Dargah is placed in the premises of the temple. A temple for Deo Narain, worshipped by Gurjars, is another temple in the complex.
