Satyavati Temple lies at
Dharmapuri in the Jagtial taluk of
Karimnagar District. It is located near the Narasimha Swamy temple. Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy is the presiding deity and the utsava idols (festival deities) are Satyavati and
Chitrangada.
Legend says that when Satyavati and her husband a Sesha (cobra), took bath in the
Godavari River, Sesha was changed into a handsome man, and was known by name Chitrangada. It is said that Satyavati, in order to prove her modesty, built an earthen pillar, which is 20 ft high. Hence, the Lord here is also called as Stambha Narasimha Swamy.
