Satpura Plateau lies in the central part of India. The southern districts of
Madhya Pradesh namely,
Betul in the western part,
Hoshangabad in the central
Narmada Valley,
Chhindwara and
Seoni in the central part belongs to the Satpura Plateau. The plateau varies in altitude from 760 to 1030 m.
Narmada River and Tapti River flows through this plateau. Tapti flows in a narrow valley between two parallel ranges of the Satpura. Patalkot Valley which is in the southern central part of the Madhya Pradesh is situated on the Satpura Plateau.
Satpura forms a part of the Deccan Plateau.
