Satpula, a seven-arched stone weir, is located in the south-east enclosure wall of Jahanpanah in
Delhi. The meaning of Satpula is seven spans. The reservoir is considered as the finest example of irrigation projects carried out under the Tughlaq dynasty. In 1326,
Muhammad bin Tughlaq constructed this dam in order to protect Delhi from invaders. The dam has seven main openings with two subsidiary openings at each end.
