Sarlamkai is a folk dance of
Mizoram. This dance celebrates the heroic deeds of a soldier at war. Both men and women participate in this dance.
A central person, wielding a sword, enacts the hero in the war. The movements are similar to that in Solakia dance, but the pace and the costume differs. No songs are sung during the whole performance. The accompanying music is produced by gongs, cymbals or drums.
