Sarkhej Complex located at
Sarkhej in
Ahmedabad District contains a mosque, palace, harem and a tomb. It is located around the Sarkhej Tank.
The tank was excavated by Mahmud Begda. A flight of stone step surrounds the tank. He constructed a richly decorated supply sluice and built at its southwest corner a splendid palace and harem. The tomb of Shaikh Ahmed Khattu, a famous saint, who was known as Ganj Bakhas is situated here.
