Santoshi Mata Temple, south India’s first shikhar temple, is located on Binny Mill Road in
Bangalore District of
Karnataka. The temple was established by Shri Jai Ambe Mandal Charitable Trust. The presiding deity of the temple is Santoshi Mata, an incarnation of Mother
Durga, and is widely worshipped throughout India.
Hindu mythology underlines that by fasting and praying to Santoshi Mata for 16 consecutive Fridays brings peace and prosperity in ones family.
The temple has a golden dome, flagpost and trident as seen in old Hindu temples. However, amidst the urban chaos, the temple is an oasis of peace and tranquility.
Bangalore International Airport is the nearby access. Bangalore Cantonment is the nearest major railway station.
