Sangtha is a remote village located in
Leh District of
Jammu and Kashmir. It is one of the few Tibetan settlements in the
Ladakh region. The slopes with low dark green bushes and the reddish hills make this place a veritable paradise for nature lovers, mountaineers and trekkers.
Tourists come here in large numbers during the winter months. For the rest of the year, this barren land is used only by the yaks for grazing.
One can approach Sangtha from Lungmoche and Tso Moriri.
