Sangameswara Temple

Sangameswara Temple is situated in Irinjalakuda, around 20 km south of Thrissur. It is dedicated to Sangameswara (Bharat), the brother of Lord Ram. The idol is installed as a magnificent chaturbhuja Vishnu bearing a conch, discus, a mace and a rosary respectively.

The sanctum of the temple is a circular one with a conical copper plated roof. The walls are decorated with murals, carvings and friezes. An 11-day long annual festival held here is a major draw. The festival concludes on the Tiruvonam asterism in the month of Aries. Another celebratory occasion is Triputtiri, a festival in the Malayalam month of Thulam, witnessing a great feast.

Irinjalakuda Railway Station is the nearest railhead.
