Sangam

Sangam, 3 km south of Srirangapatna, is a place where the Kapila and the Gundlu rivers join. The place is also called as ‘Parashuram Kshetra’ because Parashuram is said to have performed sin-cleansing holy dips here. This quiet place has shrines of Parashuram, Maruti and a newly built Basaveswara temple. The nearest rail junction, Mysore Junction Railway Station is linked with most of the important cities of the region. Bangalore International Airport is 140 km from Mysore.
