Samthar

Samthar is a town in Darjeeling District of West Bengal, about 9 km south of Kalimpong and 32 km north of Siliguri. Mangpu 13 km to the west, Pedong 21 km to the north, Gorubathan 19 km to the east and Samardanga 13 to the north are located nearby. Samthar Plateau, one of the best spots around Kalimpong, Durga Mandir, a viewing gallery and Samthar Farm House are the major points of tourist interest. Nearest airport is Civil Enclave Bagdogra. Siliguri Junction Railway Station and New Jalpaiguri Railway Station are the closest railheads.
