Samskrita Sangha, the cultural wing of the Indian Institute of Science in
Bangalore, was established with an objective of promoting a better understanding and awareness of Indian culture and heritage among the people. Its activities are mainly concentrated in the areas of Indian culture and traditions, Indian contributions to science and technology and Sanskrit language and literature.
The Samskrita Sangha organizes seminars and lectures by well known scholars and professionals, symposia, spoken Sanskrit workshops, literary competitions and cultural programs. The center commissions the translation of Sanskrit books on ancient architecture into English. Its library has a collection of books related to Indian culture, history, science and technology, philosophy and religion.
