Samet Shikar Teerth, a famous Jain teerth in
Bihar, is on the Samet Shikhar Hill near Madhuvan at a height of 4450 ft from the sea-surface. A number of famous
Teerthankars of the Jain community have attained salvation on this holy land. The pilgrimage on foot through the hill is considered as an important holy journey in Jain community.
At the foot of the hill surrounded by hills, trees, and gardens and natural beauty, there is a temple of Bhomiyadev and a splendid idol. There are also a dharmashala, a bhojanashaal, a beautiful garden and a group of eleven temples.
Girdih railway station is at a distance of nearly 25 km from the place.
