Samco Ropeway is located on the highway to
Siliguri, about 20 km from
Kalimpong, in
West Bengal. The ropeway spans about 1.5 km over the Teesta and Relli rivers. It offers a thrilling ride about 120 ft over the river, with unforgettable views.
The ropeway was constructed by Christian Missionaries to open up the remote Samthar Suruk region with its predominant Lepcha population.
Samco Ropeway provides a second access to Samthar Plateau and a visit to the ethnic villages.
