Sambathgowri Amman Nandhikeswarar Siva Temple is located at Thuriyur town, 48 kilometers from
Tiruchirapalli. There is a temple tank known as Nandhi Theertham. It is said that Sundra Chozhan named the
shivling here as Nandhikeswarar. The temple also holds the Nagakanni Amman statue. Special poojas are conducted for this Goddess to expiate the evil influence of Raghu and Kethu. The temple contains many carved stone sculptures. There is a beautiful centre mandapam (Maiya Mandapam) in the large irrigation tank near the temple. Appar, Arunagirinathar and other saints have sung in this temple.
