Sainj is in the northern end of Sirmaur District, in Himachal Pradesh. Rajgarh, at an elevation of 2,100 m above sea level, is roughly 20 km away and Pain Kufar is about 6 km south-east. The Giri River flows close by. Sainj is an ideal base for trekking. Choordhar Peak is easily accessible from here.
