Saheliyon-ki-Bari

Also known as 'garden of maidens,' Saheliyon ki Bari is situated near Fateh Sagar Lake in Udaipur. It was designed by Maharana Sangram Singh II in the early 18th century. Once it used to be a rarefied place where royal ladies used to come for a stroll. The garden has shady walks and lawns with a fascinating variety of bougainvillea. There is a reservoir surrounded by four black marbled cenotaphs. Other attractions inside the garden include water fountains shaped like birds, ornamental pools and a rain fountain. The palace of Maharana Fateh Singh is situated near the garden. There are some beautiful fountains and an oval shaped water pool strewn with lotus petals outside the palace complex.
