Sacred Heart Theological College is affiliated to the Salesian Pontifical University, Rome. Students who do the basic course in Theology are honored with the B.Th. (Bachelor of Theology) degree. The college also provides master's degree in Systematic Theology with specialization in Missiology (M.Th.). From August 1993 the college has been offering a one year Residential Diploma Course in Theology for the religious and the laity (ITLR).
The college features a library with a collection of 83,000 volumes dealing mostly with theology, missiology and Indian and tribal culture. Rare books of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, facsimile copies of the Guetenberg Bible and the Codex Vaticanus, and the first printed Khasi dictionary are the pride of the library. 470 volumes of The Statesman (from 1933 to 1996), and 300 volumes of The Times of London (from 1940 to 1975) are the most worthy collections of the library.
