Rupasor Bathing Ghat




Rupasor Bathing Ghat is a beautiful bathing pool situated on the Jowai-Muktapur Road, in Jaintia Hills District, Meghalaya. The pool, hewn out of rock forms the bed of the Rupasor stream, is about 19.5 ft in length and 15 ft wide.

A flight of steps hewn out of the same mass of rock leads one to the bottom of the pool. The replica of an elephant has been carved on the right wall of the pool, which serves as platform to sit upon. There are two huge rocks bearing the designs of the Sun and Moon.

It is believed that the pool was created by U Luh Lyngskor Lamare under the direction of the Jaintia King.
