Route Relay Interlocking System




Route Relay Interlocking System (RRI) is a modern railway signaling system and is introduced by Indian Railways to ensure safe and sound operation of trains. This well-organized signaling system helps in time management during the movement of trains. It is installed at main stations including junction stations where large number of train movements take place. Stations with route relay interlocking facility include Vijayawada Junction Railway Station, Kazipet Railway Station and Secunderabad Junction Railway Station. World’s largest route relay interlocking system is implemented at New Delhi Railway Station (Delhi main station.) It is certified by the Guinness Book of Records.
