Residency Building, which now houses the University College for Women at
Hyderabad, was built in 1803. The complex is built along an axial plan. The main entrance leading to the Durbar hall is adorned with immense Corinthian pillars bearing the East India Company crest (a unicorn and a seated lion). The building has another entrance from the river. Located at the corner of the garden is a small cemetery, which has the grave of the Residents, including that of Kirkpatrick, the first occupant of the building. Ruins of Rang Mahal, the home of Kirkpatrick's wife, Khair-un-Nissa, is situated near the outer wall.
The St George's Church (of 1844) and Christ Church (of 1867) are located nearby.
