Regipora, located near
Kupwara, was founded by Chek Sardar Regi Chek, during the reign of Ali Shah Chek. At Regipora, one can see the ruins of the city established by the Cheks. Gadhi, a hilly land located north of Regipora, was once a fort of the Cheks.
