Regional Resources Center for Folk Performing Arts located in the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (MGM) College campus of
Udupi is aimed at preserving the folk theaters of
Karnataka. The Center is housed in the Nalanda building of the college.
The Center is a source house of almost all forms of folk traditions, worships, folk medicine traditions, folk music and beliefs of the state with a few samples of allied forms of neighboring states. Documentation of rare folk theater forms, preservation of data and dissemination of information are some of the activities carried out at the center. The Center maintains an archival treasure consisting of video cassettes, documentaries, slides, photographs and audio tapes.
