Regional Institute of Technology (RIT), established in 1960, is located in
Jamshedpur,
Jharkhand.
The institute is one of the 17 Regional Engineering Colleges’ (REC’s) jointly sponsored by the central and state governments. It is affiliated to the Ranchi University. The college provides the entire necessary infrastructure for the students and faculty in their research and development.
RIT houses a modern administrative building, library and classrooms with state-of-the-art laboratories, computer center and workshop. It also has many hostels and residential quarters, which spread over an area of 1.5 sq km on the bank of the Kharkai River.
Graduate and post graduate courses in technology and science are offered. Apart from studies, students are encouraged to take part in extra-curricular and co-curricular activities.
The institute is about 12 km from the Tatanagar Junction Railway Station.
