Regional Cancer Centre (RCC) is situated in a modern building complex, within the
Medical College Campus in
Thiruvananthapuram. It is an internationally famed center for conducting a wide range of cancer research. The center was founded in 1981 by the Government of Kerala and Government of India.
RCC caters to the population of the state of Kerala and the adjoining parts of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. The center provides state-of-the-art facilities for cancer diagnosis, treatment, palliation and rehabilitation. Diagnostic and therapeutic facilities are radiotherapy, horemone therapy, chemotherapy, endoscopy, colposcopy, tissue culture facility, pathology lab, thyroid scanner, mammogram and CT-Scanner.
Asraya, a registered volunteer organization functioning at the Centre, helps the cancer patients in every possible way in collaboration with the RCC. It is an association of service minded ladies (mainly housewives and retired career women), motivated by concern, sympathy and love for the poor and suffering.
