Red-whiskered Bulbul (Pycnonotus jocosus) has a lean body, short neck, sharp beak curved at the tip, and short hair above and below the beak. The upperparts are brownish with white cheeks and breast. The bird is noticeable because of its tall-black crest and the thick black stripe running from its beak to neckline.
The bird resides in the residential areas, parks and gardens. Its nest is flimsy, shallow, and cup-shaped made of grass and leaves. They are generally seen in bushes or low trees. During the spring and summer months, the female lays up to three eggs. Eggs are long, brown and have purplish spots. The bird feeds on fruits and insects.
