Rappal village, situated between
Irinjalakuda and
Thrissur, is a traditional village famous for ancient temples.
Major points of attraction at Rappal are the Shri Krishna Temple and Bhagavati Temple. It is believed that Nandi, the divine bull, brought the idol of Shri Krishna Temple at night. Hundreds of devotees from every nook and corner of the region celebrate the major festival of this temple with pomp and fanfare. Every alternate year, the Lord at Koodalmanikyam Temple arrives at Rappal for Aarattu.
