Ranpur is a historic town in
Nayagarh District of
Orissa. As per revenue records, the place is called Ranpur Garf. Ranpur is situated 30 km south-east of
Nayagarh.
Ranpur is essentially a temple town; the large number of temples dotting its townscape presents a stunning picture of the exquisite temple architecture of medieval times. Major attraction of the town is the Lord Jagannath Temple, located near the Mandakini River.
Standing in the temple premises, one could catch the beautiful sights of other shrines in Ranpur with the charming Mainaka and Dhanya ranges forming the backdrop.
