Rani Jhansi Marine National Park is located in
Ritchie’s Archipelago, an undisputed eco-tourism hub in Andaman District of
Andaman and Nicobar Islands. It is about 40 km from
Baratang Island.
Notified as a national park in 1996, the park comprises of a group of islands namely John Lawrence Island, Henry Lawrence Island and Outram Island.
Covering a total area of about 256 sq km, the habitats and important wildlife found in the Rani Jhansi National Park include the terrestrial moist forests, mangroves, coral reefs, marine life, crocodile, dugong and birds. A remarkable number of fruit-eating bat species indicates their importance as pollinators and seed dispersers.
Rani Jhansi Marine National Park can be approached from Port Blair.
