Rani Durgavati Vishwavidyalaya is located at
Jabalpur, in
Madhya Pradesh. It was formerly known as University of Jabalpur. The Vishwavidyalaya was constituted and established on June12, 1956.
There are 118 affiliated colleges and 23 teaching departments under this university. The vishwavidyalaya offers 121 programs including 17 self-financing courses. Department of Tribal Studies and the Gandhian Study Center are the special features of this vishwavidyalaya .
The campus of the vishwavidyalaya is spread over 99.63 acres of land accommodating an administrative block, art faculty building, teaching and research buildings of physics, chemistry, mathematics, bio-science, system science and physical science departments. It also has a central library, computer center, institute of management, law department, hostels, health center, guest house, canteen and residential quarters. A post office, bank and printing press are also present within the campus.
