Rander is located in
Surat District of
Gujarat. It is about 10 km north of
Surat.
Rander was a principal commercial center to the south of Broach before Surat came into prominence. In the 11th and 12th century, Arabs and Kafas settled here and over powered the Jain community and changed it into a center for foreign trade. Rander lost its prosperity in 16th century after the invasion of Portuguese.
Surat Airport is the nearest airport. Surat Railway Station is the nearest major railhead.
