One of the greatest revolutionaries of India, Ramprasad Bismil was born at
Shahjahanpur in
Uttar Pradesh in the year 1897. Kakori Rail Dacoity episode took place under the supervision of Ramprasad Bismil. For this the British government hanged him to death in 1927.
Ramprasad also was a great revolutionary poet in Hindi. Ramprasad was his original name and 'Bismil' is the penname.
'Even if I have to face death a thousand times for the sake of my Motherland, I shall not be sorry. Oh Lord! Grant me a hundred births in Bharat (India). But grant me this, too, that each time I may give up my life in the service of the Mother land.' This sums up Ramprasad Bismil in his own words.
